Collaborative Philanthropy in Global South: Learnings and Way Forward

The session will aim to facilitate a conversation on collaborative action in the Global South, based on Bridgespan India’s soon to be published research on this topic. Bridgespan’s global research published in 2021 as well as in India in 2020. It will include a short presentation on key findings, followed by an open discussion with session attendees on collaborative action.

Through an exploration of successful case studies, attendees will gain invaluable insights into practical strategies and innovative approaches that provide actionable pathways to address the intricate issues that shape the region.

Building Stronger Together: Responding to Climate X SDGs in India

​This session aims to foster a deeper understanding of intersectionality and the need to build community resilience for fulfilling the SDGs, particularly for the most vulnerable populations, and the role civil society organizations, philanthropy, and governments can play in building and sustaining it. The session will also focus on the need for collaboration and consensus among stakeholders by leveraging collective resources, networks, and skill sets across sectors to inform key interventions towards sustainable development.

Furthermore, the discussion would explore the power of data for good as a tool that fuels partnerships by bringing efficiency, transparency and promoting accountability.

Catalytic Capital, Capabilities and Communities: The 3 C’s powering a paradigm shift in South Asian Philanthropy

In this session, we will examine how catalytic capital, capabilities, and communities interact with each other to give rise to a new form of philanthropy in South Asia using real-world examples and open dialogue. We will also address fundamental questions like, ‘can catalytic capital, capabilities, and communities enable and empower domestic philanthropy in the way that South Asia needs, rather than in a way that international development wants?’
