Dasra Philanthropy Week 2010

Picture
On Thursday, March 18th and Friday 19th, 2010 Dasra launched the Indian Philanthropy Forum on March 2010. Opening the conference, Deval Sanghavi, Co-Founder and Co-CEO said, "The aim of the Indian Philanthropy Forum is to build a dynamic community of philanthropists who are committed to developing high impact solutions to poverty in India. By bringing together incredible donors, social sector experts and individuals with a passion to make a difference we can inspire a new generation of leaders in philanthropy."

Keynote speaker, Rohini Nilekani, highlighted the responsibility of India's wealthy elite - "I hope we can create an environment both at the policy level and at a society level, which makes not just the people in this room, but a great many of us who have more (wealth) than others, into philanthropists". Founding members present were Anu Aga, Adi Godrej, Ajay Piramal, Rohini Nilekani, and Anand Mahindra. The forum also saw the nation's next generation philanthropists, such as Nisa Godrej, and Nandini Piramala's active speakers and delegates at the launch and leading the future of philanthropy.
