The national government’s flagship scheme, the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) or Clean India Mission, has made  great strides in bringing attention to the sanitation crisis, and in particular facilitating access to toilets. At the same time,  these efforts have neglected less well known, though equally critical aspects fundamental to developing effective sanitation systems across India's cities. Learn about the full scope of India’s sanitation crisis, unprecedented  nonprofit-led solutions, and public-private partnerships accelerating progress through the sanitation value chain.
