The Dasra Girl Power Awards 2014 - 2015

Highlight organizations with innovative and impactful programs around adolescent girls 

  • Encourage a new focus by established organizations on adolescent girls as beneficiaries 
  • Provide exposure to issues faced by adolescent girls and the need to focus on their empowerment 

Categories 
The Awards recognizes impactful and innovative programs that work with adolescent girls in three distinct areas of interventions –Employability, Sanitation and Safety and Mobility. 

Awards 
The winner in each category will receive a cash prize of INR 5 lakh each, along with capacity building support from Dasra. The finalists in each category will get access to Dasra's network of philanthropists and funding organizations, editorial coverage from Hindustan Times and will be invited to a 3-day workshop facilitated by Dasra.


Jury 
The jury for the Awards comprises 6-8 eminent people, with experience and perspective on building innovative and scalable organizations

Application Evaluation 
Applicants for the Dasra Girl Power Awards are evaluated using criteria such as potential of interventions, focus on adolescent girls, organizational budgets, management team, number of beneficiaries reached. The applications are screened on the criteria set beforehand to arrive at the top four/five finalists in each category.
