The Awards recognizes impactful and innovative programs that work with adolescent girls in three distinct areas of interventions – Health, Education and Life Skills.
Awards
The winner in each category receives a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh. The finalists in each category get access to Dasra’s network of philanthropists and funding organizations in addition to a 2-day capacity building workshop facilitated by Dasra
Jury
The jury for the Awards comprises 6-8 eminent people, with experience and perspective on building innovative and scalable organisations
Application Evaluation
Applicants for the Dasra Girl Power Awards are evaluated using criteria such as potential of interventions, focus on adolescent girls, organisational budgets, management team, number of beneficiaries reached. The applications are screened on the criteria set beforehand to arrive at the top five/six finalists in each category.
- Highlight organizations with innovative and impactful programs around adolescent girls
- Encourage a new focus by established organizations on adolescent girls as beneficiaries
- Provide exposure to issues faced by adolescent girls and the need to focus on their empowerment
