Meera Mehta 

CEPT University
Meera Mehta is a Professor Emeritus at CEPT University, with over 35 years of experience in water and sanitation, urban development and infrastructure finance. She is the joint Director for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s projects with CEPT University for performance assessment and urban sanitation. She is on the board of the Stockholm-based inter-governmental organization Global Water Partnership (GWP), the Dutch NGO IRC and Arusha Homes, India. She was a member of the working group for the WHO-UNICEF post-2015 deliberations for water supply and sanitation. She has worked with USAID’s FIRE Project on urban infrastructure finance and was instrumental in the development of municipal bonds in India. Subsequently, she worked on policy and urban finance with the World Bank in India and its Water and Sanitation Program in Africa. She led the global work on Financing at WSP. She has consulted for a large number of international agencies, including World Bank, ADB, DFID and UNICEF, Gates Foundation and WaterAid. She has written extensively on housing, urban development, water and sanitation and urban infrastructure finance. She has studied Architecture and Urban Planning , and has a Ph. D. in Economics.
