Raj is a banker-turned-social entrepreneur and co-founder of Lend-A-Hand India, an organization focused on providing vocational education in secondary schools, covering 0.8 million students in 8500+ schools in 24 states across India. Raj has worked across Asia, Europe and North America in the fields of education, banking, insurance and IT. Prior to leaving the corporate world in 2011, he spent ten years in New York working with Citibank and Deloitte Consulting. Raj was appointed by the Government of India as a General Body Member of the National Skill Development Agency from 2014 to 2017.
He has been an advisor to the Government of Maharashtra and a member of a state-level committee on the effective utilization of CSR resources in education. Raj was awarded the Chevening Fellowship by the British Government in 2012. He is an Electronics Engineer from the University of Pune, CFA, and has completed his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
